It was ‘the Pinkalicious Morning’ organized by ‘the Indian Trumpet’. It was the morning which bloomed with a pink glow with everyone wearing pink and bright smiles. It was the morning when we talked about Breast Cancer, we discussed, we learnt, we got educated about being more responsible towards our well-being. The venue was a cute cosy café called ‘Spill the bean’ at the Sunset Mall, Jumeirah.
We women, so easily forget our duties to our own self while we are busy fulfilling duties of being a mother, a wife, a daughter-in-law, a homemaker. It was a morning, when we reminded us of taking good care of ourselves as we learnt that taking care of ourselves is also a part of taking care of people we love.
But while we were learning some of these serious lessons, we were also having a lot of fun. We learnt some healthy cooking with Prachi Grover ( the popular food-blogger at Orange Kitchens). We made pretty pink hair clips with La Creatividad – they are known to make gorgeous hand-made hair accessories. We got damn cute pink goodie-bags with yummy cup-cakes by Cakes n bakes and hand-made bookmarks and marzipans by Itzy-biz and Sugar-rush!
And with all of this Pinkness around, we walked out of the event more aware about a disease we fear, but we don’t talk much about; more educated about taking care of ourselves; more spirited about being responsible to creating a healthy life and much more happier as we celebrated being a woman.
Thanks to ‘the Indian Trumpet’ for such a great initiative and making ‘the Pinkalicious morning’ a morning full of smiles, creativity and meaning.
Until we speak next,
