MO’s@Citywalk ~ A Review

While I was trying hard to get over my holiday blues and missing the delicious Italian food, well in time came the invite to try the MO’s Restaurant in the Citywalk, the place which is gaining popularity by day in the Sheikhland. With MO’s getting raving reviews all across the Sheikhland blogosphere, I was absolutely excited about visiting this place which is serving American recipes with a twist made daily with fresh ingredients and checking it all out for myself. It is part of the Caramel Group which apart from Mo’s which consists of Caramel Dubai, Caramel Abu Dhabi.

After a warm welcome by the staff, as I stepped in, the thing that struck to me was how spacious the interiors were with super-high ceilings, a bar , a private area for families and an al-fresco setting overlooking the Burj Khalifa whilst also enjoying the beautiful exteriors of the Citywalk.

Thankfully the weather that day was blissful and we (me and hubby) chose to sit outside. Our server introduced herself and acquainted us with the most popular starters and drinks on the menu.

The menu was divided into a breakfast menu, a Lunch & dinner menu, the signature entrees and the most exciting and unique part – a Just for kids menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

I went for the Green apple juice (AED 24) while A chose to go for Pineapple juice (AED 24) . For the starters, we went ahead with the recommendation from our server – Onion rings presented in the form of Burj Khalifa – the crispy onion rings stack. (AED 42)

Now who would say no to admiring the magnificent Burj Khalifa in the front whilst enjoying a delish Burj Khalifa of Onion Rings. Here is a glimpse of the what the sight looked like –

The juices were fresh and refreshing, though I found the Green Apple juice better than the Pineapple one. But full marks to the crispy and yummy onion rings.

For the mains, I ordered herb marinated 1/2 baby chicken ( AED 75) while A went for Simply Grilled Salmon (AED 105). The Chicken was described on the menu as a medley of grilled vegetables, topped with chicken Au Jus. The portion size was pretty big truly living up to the American standards and I was actually repenting to have ordered some fries on the sides, making it all a huge portion for one person to finish. The chicken was grilled to perfection and made a filling, healthy and tasty dinner option which I was very happy about.

Hubby loved the Salmon and could not stop praising it. It came with steamed vegetables, mashed potato and fresh lemon.

Now came the time, I was absolutely looking forward to – the desserts at MO’s I had heard such great things about. The dessert menu is full of interesting choices from cakes to ice creams to sundaes to sorbets and the signature milkshakes.

My choice was a Mango sorbet milkshake (AED 32) while A went for Brooklyn Peanut Butter Hot Fudge (AED 39). And got to agree with my fellow bloggers when they go gaga about desserts at MO’s – well A BIG YES to how awesome these are and such a whole lot of variety to indulge in. I got to say this was the best part of the meal.

The average price for two for this mega American meal experience with a view is around AED 350. With the location and the view like that, not forgetting the huge portion sizes and the top-notch service, it is complete value for money.

I say Mo’s definitely shows a lot of promise for being the sought after go-to-family places. The juices and the milkshakes are quality apart. Totally worth checking out!
