The Istanbul Series – Part II@The Spice Bazaar

Overflowing with colour, the Spice Bazaar was a delight for the camera.

I was walking in the perimeter, gazing everything in wonder and sinking in the vibrance of the colourful collage spread before my eyes.

Sometimes while trying to make a living, we forget to live, we forget to stop and smell the roses, we forget to appreciate life in it’s various colours, we forget to think colourful.
Ah … I am sure you can tell, I love colours! *Smiles*

I want to talk less today and let the pictures do the talking.

After the round up of the Bazaars, I shall, in my next post, take you to meet the lovely people from Istanbul at one of the most beautiful islands in Turkey. Any guesses?

Until then, get colour-struck with these pictures and please do drop in a line if you like them.

Wishing you all a colourful Sunday!

Love!!

Presenting Part II of the Grand Bazaar for you now. Look at the colourful spices and natural teas. Rose tea, pomegranate tea, strawberry tea, love tea ….. Ohhh Emmmm Geee! They are all so tempting and just look at the dazzling colours of the spices.

Infact they have a separate bazaar called the Spice Bazaar but I did not feel any difference between Spice Bazaar and Grand Bazaar. Both of them have got the same kind of stuff except that Grand Bazaar is bigger.

I will take you on the virtual journey of the Spice Bazaar too and you can see it yourself.

Also, the silver jewellery there and the pashminas were making me oooooh and aahhhhh.

More coming up tomorrow with all the useful details to help you to make most out of the Grand Bazaar, whenever you plan your visit to Istanbul

For now, enjoy these pictures and do drop in a line if you like them.

Love!

Flowers@Sheikhland

When I came to Dubai, I would wonder if there would be any flowers around, it being in a desert and deprived of the rains. I was somehow preparing myself to miss the beautiful flowers in London, which are a delight for my camera lenses and I would spend hours capturing them in my photos … something I was pretty sure to miss here in Dubai.
But to my surprise, Dubai too has some lovely flowers, ofcourse not as many as London, but still quite a few there to add colour to this beautiful city.
Especially these flowers (in the pictures)are popping open all over town– white , shades of pink and orange.
I so admire the courage of these delicate flowers that wear their hearts on their sleeves to take courage to bloom, despite the harsh heat of Dubai, , hopeful to live on in their colourful grandeur, optimistic to make the city look great and give someone like me a reason to step out of my home, click these beauties and a delight to my camera to capture life in its most gorgeous form.

Color-struck!!!

I always find flowers, fruit and vegetables market fascinating as they make the prettiest and colourful frames for my camera. And so when I went for the grocery shopping to Carrefour today, I was totally blown over by the yellows, reds, greens, violets forming a beautiful collage of colours with the vegetables display.

Colours have optimism, colours have spirit and the gorgeous colours in flowers and vegetables often leave me wondering about how magical nature is and what perfection!

With my camera today, grocery shopping was far from being a monotonous business. It felt as if the world outdoors was festive, cheerful ,brimming with colour everywhere elevating the celebration mood of Ramadan. And I was happy in my internal world that’s blessed with summer’s renewing touch, and friends and poetry and of course ‘colours’.

Redefining feathers – Origins Collective@Eventra Ramadan Fair

cage

With Ramadan, also comes a whole lot of designers’ exhibitions and fairs with them displaying their crafts and I happened to visit one such fair called the Eventra Ramadan Fair 2013 organised in the Sunset Mall.

The fair had some really interesting stalls and one called the Origins Collective, particularly drew my attention with lovely feather earrings, hair accessories showcasing funky colours and designs. And being an ardent accessories-lover and collector, I was compelled to spend some good time at the stall admiring this very cool idea of using feathers as hair extensions.

Ruchika Sangal, the woman behind Origins, explained to me how she came out with this unique idea. The stall also had some gorgeous bracelets, necklaces and earrings. The collection is very apt for adding to those summer dresses and has that ‘girlie’ feel to it with the use of a lot of charms in the bracelets and hand-cuffs.

For women, who like to make a style statement by wearing something unique, I recommend Origins Collective is worth exploring.
